IC-MC-MoP wye in Natchez |
| Description: |
To the right was the mainline of the former Mississippi Central, which was bought by the IC in 1969. The MC is still in service to Brrokhaven. To the left is the northwest leg which allowed the IC to access the Port of Natchez and to interchange with the small MoP yard just west of this location. Continuing away from you is the MC approach to their end of track as well as the IC line to their depot on the river front. At one time, the IC line continued all the way to Jackson, MS. |

This is a view of the freight platform and station of the Mississippi Central. The pnter to the left occupies the location of the freight track which paralleled the loading dock. To the extreme left you can see a poriton of the passenger station. At one time there were 3 tracks here. This was abandoned when the IC bought the MC in 1969. |
